Unique Players

Some Clarifications:
1. Every player that is seen here with a nickname, means that it (the nickname) was not applied with «Credits», but was awarded extraordinarily by GMs or HTs. The way to corroborate it is to check that he does not have a memorable event for name/nickname change.
2. The criteria for including players here will be exclusive to those who set up the Section. In principle, we will add any non-retired player who has an extraordinary nickname (see previous point) or a unique face (avatar).
3. We try not to add more fired (retired) players. Exceptions are because they have achieved something unique and superlative in the Game.
4. This article will become a sub-section of the Curiosities segment. It means that it will be probably be modified (add new content that has been overlooked or corrections on the above).

The oldest player in Hattrick. On December 28, 2012 he celebrated his 100th birthday and the Swedes gave him a new «avatar». He is the only one «alive» with a special face.

In March 2018, his manager celebrates 20 years of his club in the Swedish forum: (17170219.1). In post #36, Torsberg, owner of the oldest HT player (Stefan Åkergren), greets him.

At first, HT-Bjorn did not think it possible for a player to get more than 5 stars, but in case he invented a qualification: «Helgon», which means Saint.
Then, Hattrick begins to change the training system: More types of training are added, making it possible to train all skills (not just set pieces and stamina). As a result of this new change, Per Emilsson stands out, becoming the first and only player to achieve the «Helgon» level (remember that it was added just in case, against all odds, the impossible became reality).
That same week, the rating system changes and exclamation marks are added if the maximum 5-star rating is exceeded “*****”.

The number one. He whom we all love. The only player who is better than «popular»: «a beloved teammate who is calm and dishonest.»

He was the most famous Hattrick player, and whom no one ever saw his face completely. Sometimes it was covered by a beer, a ball, a brick, a cat… his owner retired him on «April fools» day. This was his last game, where he retires with a Hattrick: (69548491)

Craig Wozniak (901268) (retired)
He was the first non-Swedish world star (he was English). He also participated in the Final of the first World Cup. This historic Hattrick player gained fame for being the first player (again, non-Swedish) to reach «divine» experience. For this great achievement the HTs made him a gift: a pair of sunglasses.
The Englishman participated in about 80 games with his team and had 3 owners, he reached that level of experience being the England captain 46 times. He was placed in the Hall of Fame of Macca’s Men club in September 2007, but was eventually lost when this team was left without an owner. In England he has a Cup with his name.

Marc ‘de la gente’ O’Farrell (4178968) (retired)
Marc was born in July 2002. The story of this player began when the president of his club, Librasboys, approached the Argentine Forum and requested the big names of HT Argentina, then GM-Patron and GM-Fëanor, if it was possible that Marc had a special nickname, his nickname.
He would then be Marc «de la gente» [«of the people»] O’Farrell. The community echoed this request and supported it; it is not very well known why but Marc was a very dear player. Then it was time to gather signatures among users. Finally, more signatures were obtained than were required and the idol became «de la gente» (inspired on Diego Maradona’s autobiography book «Yo soy el Diego – de la gente»).
Subsequently, the Swedes would give him a unique face: Marc started using a bandana on his head.

Amar Atwal is a forward who was uninterruptedly trained for 11.5 seasons. At the age of 29, he was assigned the nickname «Nooruk» (Estonian for «youth player») for his efforts. For a long time he had the record of Experience, then surpassed by Zurita.

The amazing becomes «epic» when we consider that it is the first official match that Sweden loses in its history and, to top it all, in a World Cup Final!
He was later nicknamed «Mjølnir», which is the name of Thor’s hammer.

After winning the Bronze with Switzerland, the HTs gave him the nickname. By then, he was already a legend in his country: «No Nastasi, No Party».

Matej ‘Božský’ Mertl (23451819)
Božský means «divine». He reached that level in 3 skills (wing, set pieces and experience) and became -by that time- the best player in Slovakia.

Swen ‘Fumpe’ Ewers (112650522)
Fumpe means «bad player» in German. He was on the U20 squad that won the World Cup. He had been trained a lot in set pieces, so he did not get lots of stars on each game. Everyone questioned his call, but he silenced them all when he scored two goals in the Big Final.

Denis ‘Postrach’ Backa (56562694)
Postrach means «menace», and the nickname is after «Denis the Menace». In season 40, at 33, he helped Slovakia a lot to reach Round 2 of World Cup. He was the top scorer of the Qualifications phase with 8 goals.

Anders ‘Lynet’ Ødegård (143662806)
It means «Lightning» in Norwegian (his specialty is «Fast»).
He was the Captain of the Norwegian World Champions (XV). He also scored and was the MVP in the Final (302697295).

Dragutin ‘»Rübe»‘ Mrden (128774969) (HoF)
«Rübe» means «big head». He was the best forward in the German world champion squad. But he had a lot of bad luck with form and played little. When they became champions, the HTs let the coach give him a nickname and he rewarded the good Dragutin with his.

Horia ‘Hunny Bunny’ Bãrboi (142661513) (HoF)
Goalkeeper of U20 România in World Cups IX and X. He played 2362 minutes for his country. In the 10th U20 World Cup he was injured so he became a coach just to heal and play immediately. For this reason he earned the nickname.

Tonny ‘Staden’ Stadsholt (48389394)
He was a crack from Denmark. An animal on the field but many scandals out of it. He reach the final of a World Cup but lost. They invented HT Press articles and meetings where they said Tonny would go.
«Staden» is a way of calling Copenhagen and the nickname was awarded informally when he debuted in the NT. After the defeat in the Final, HT-Tjecken gave him the nickname.
